why arent my podcast showing up on my ipod?

so i ve got the couple of podcast upon my itunes, ive checked preferences as well as theyre (the podcasts) have been checked for syncing, ive updated my ipod though the podcast wouldnt uncover up upon the ipod- did i skip the step?

the only thing i can think of is are they video podcasts and you have a non-video ipod? also are the podcasts set to automatically update when you plug in your ipod?
